Herbal diet medicine & prescription

10questions

Q01What kind of medicine is ACRO's herbal diet medicine?

It is herbal medicine that activates metabolism to raise energy use and helps control appetite. It comes in capsules, so taste and smell are not a burden, and our medical team spends 30 minutes in consultation guiding your eating and lifestyle habits as well.

Q02Is the prescription different for each person?

Yes. We check your weight, past medication history, constitution and health in the consultation and prepare a custom formula. While you take it, we see you monthly and adjust the prescription to your condition and progress.

Q03How many months do people usually take it?

It depends on your goal and current condition, but the 3-month program is the most common for steady, fat-focused loss and building eating habits. Our medical team recommends a period based on your body composition and goal, so you don't need to decide in advance.

Q04Will I lose weight in just one month?

You can lose weight in one month. But early on there is a period when water weight drops and returns, and habits need time to settle for maintenance, so we recommend at least about 3 months.

Q05Won't I lose muscle?

Most of the loss comes from body fat. We check your body composition with InBody at each visit and adjust the prescription and diet guidance accordingly.

Q06Can I get a prescription even if I'm not very heavy?

Body fat matters more than weight. If muscle is low and there is fat to lose, we can prescribe, and if only certain areas concern you, we also suggest treatments such as ACRO Cut or ONDA lifting.

Q07Can I lose weight only in specific areas like the upper or lower body?

Herbal medicine reduces body fat overall. If you have specific concern areas, combining area treatments such as ACRO Cut or ONDA lifting works well, and we suggest the right approach during your consultation.

Q08What if I'm not losing weight even while taking it?

If progress is slow, our medical team reviews your eating and daily patterns and adjusts the prescription or how you take it based on the cause.

Q09I didn't see results elsewhere — will it work for me?

We review your past medications and weight-loss history in detail during a 30-minute consultation before prescribing, so we also look at why it didn't work before.

Q10Do men take it too?

Yes, many men come to us. We prescribe based on body composition and constitution regardless of sex.

Wegovy & Mounjaro (GLP-1)

Wegovy & Mounjaro (GLP-1)

5questions

Q11How is it different from Wegovy or Mounjaro?

GLP-1 injections suppress appetite and slow stomach emptying. ACRO's herbal medicine supports metabolism and fullness, and combines it with eating and lifestyle coaching, focusing on keeping the weight off afterward.

Q12Does ACRO's herbal medicine regulate insulin or blood sugar?

No. It is not an insulin, blood-sugar or hormone medicine; it is herbal medicine that raises energy use by activating metabolism and helps control appetite.

Q13Can I switch from GLP-1 injections to herbal medicine?

Yes. Usually you can start the herbal medicine one week after your last injection.

Q14Can I take herbal medicine while using the injections?

Depending on your situation, we can prescribe it alongside after your visit. Continue Wegovy or Mounjaro at your current clinic, and Acro prescribes the herbal medicine.

Q15I'm worried about rebound after stopping the injections.

We see you through the first 3 months after stopping with a visit every month. Herbal medicine starts one week after your last injection to manage the period when appetite comes back. Details are on the After GLP-1 Care page.

8questions

Q16I'm taking other medication — can I take it together?

Tell us the names of your medications and we will advise you at your visit.

Q17Can I take it if I'm on blood pressure or diabetes medication?

Yes, we can still prescribe. Take it at least one hour apart from your other medication; weight loss also helps manage blood pressure and blood sugar, so many people come for that reason.

Q18Is it okay if I have hypothyroidism?

There is generally no problem. Just take it one hour apart from your thyroid medication.

Q19What if I have hyperthyroidism?

If you currently have no symptoms such as palpitations or hand tremors, we can prescribe. If you do, our medical team will check first and advise.

Q20Is it okay if I have fatty liver or a liver condition?

With fatty liver, weight loss may help improve liver numbers. It depends on the type and state of the liver condition, so please share your diagnosis and our medical team will check.

Q21Is it okay if I have PCOS?

Yes, you can take it. Weight loss may also help stabilize your cycle and manage insulin resistance.

Q22Can I take supplements at the same time?

Common supplements such as vitamins, omega-3, probiotics, magnesium and calcium are fine. Take iron one hour apart and anti-inflammatory supplements about 30 minutes apart; for anything else, send us a photo to check.

Q23Can I take red ginseng?

We recommend pausing it while taking the herbal medicine and resuming after your weight loss is complete.

Pregnancy, postpartum, nursing & age

Pregnancy, postpartum, nursing & age

6questions

Q24Can I take it while breastfeeding?

You can't take the herbal diet medicine while breastfeeding. If you plan to stop nursing, we will advise on a prescription after consultation.

Q25When can I start after giving birth?

You can start 50 days after giving birth and once you have stopped breastfeeding. We check your postpartum condition and changes in constitution before prescribing.

Q26Can I take herbal diet medicine during menopause?

Yes, you can take it during menopause. Metabolism tends to slow and body fat tends to build up around the abdomen at this stage; ACRO's herbal diet medicine uses a combination of herbs to help improve your condition and support weight loss together. If you take any medication, let us know during your consultation and our medical team will check before prescribing.

Q27Is it okay if I'm planning a pregnancy?

Planning a pregnancy is not a problem. We recommend contraception during the diet period; the main components leave the body within 2–3 days, so stop taking it 2–3 days before trying to conceive.

Q28Is there an age limit?

For those under 19, we prescribe after confirming guardian consent. For older adults our medical team decides, and prescribing may be difficult for those 70 and over.

Q29Can I take it while pregnant?

We do not prescribe it during pregnancy.

How to take it & daily life

How to take it & daily life

10questions

Q30Can I drink coffee?

Yes, if you have no discomfort. But avoid caffeine for the first 1–3 days, and after that we suggest 1–2 cups in the morning. If you have palpitations or trouble sleeping, cut back on caffeine.

Q31What should I do on days I drink alcohol?

You may get drunk faster or have a worse hangover, so skip the evening dose on days you drink. If you're hungover the next day, pause until you feel better.

Q32Do I need to take it on an empty stomach?

You can take it before or after meals. Take it three times a day, four hours apart.

Q33I missed a dose.

Take it as soon as you remember and keep a four-hour interval from then. If it is within 6–7 hours of bedtime, skip the evening dose.

Q34How does the detox work?

For 2 days before starting the S capsule, take the D capsule three times a day and eat light meals of about 200 kcal such as porridge rather than fasting. Then start the S capsule at one pill and increase to 2–3 if you feel fine.

Q35What should my diet look like?

There are no foods you must avoid. Control your daily calories and have 2–3 meals focused on protein and vegetables; we give specific calorie targets during your consultation.

Q36Do I have to exercise?

It isn't required. Diet control matters most for weight loss; we recommend exercise for your health, as much as you enjoy.

Q37Can I take it during my period?

Yes, you can take it during your period.

Q38How do I store it when traveling?

The S capsule can be stored at room temperature. Keep it in a cool place away from direct sunlight; we can issue an English certificate if you take it abroad.

Q39I've hit a plateau.

Plateaus of a few days to 1–2 weeks are common during weight loss. If you keep up your diet, weight often drops again in steps; if you're feeling unwell, don't push it and recover first.

Side effects & safety

Side effects & safety

7questions

Q40Are there side effects?

We prescribe to keep discomfort to a minimum, and the package includes medicines that help manage it. If you feel unwell, reduce to 1–2 pills or pause and contact us — our medical team will advise right away.

Q41Can it cause palpitations?

Because it activates metabolism, you may feel palpitations. Reduce to 1–2 pills or pause, drink plenty of water and avoid caffeine. If it continues, consult our medical team to adjust the strength.

Q42I'm having trouble sleeping.

Take the evening dose at least 7 hours before bed, drink plenty of water and avoid caffeine. If insomnia is still severe, skip the evening dose and consult our medical team.

Q43Is ephedra (mahuang) okay?

Ephedra (mahuang) is the key herb in diet herbal medicine: it raises metabolism and heat production to help break down body fat. In multiple studies with blood and urine tests before and after taking ephedra, liver and kidney function stayed within normal range, and most of its components are cleared within about 48 hours. Early on, temporary autonomic symptoms such as palpitations or sleeplessness can occur but fade quickly; studies in healthy adults reported only changes within normal range on ECG and ultrasound. ACRO uses hGMP-certified herbs, prescribes at the dose recommended by the Korean Society for the Study of Obesity in Korean Medicine, caps continuous use at 6 months, and adjusts the dosing or prescription if discomfort continues.

Q44Should I worry about heavy metals in herbal medicine?

All our medicine is made only with hGMP-certified (Good Manufacturing Practice) herbal ingredients. Medical-grade herbs go through heavy-metal testing.

Q45How long can I take it?

You can usually take it continuously for up to 6 months, then take at least a one-month break before restarting, because weight-loss efficiency drops after 6 months. During the break you can take the Y capsule for maintenance.

Q46What happens if I stop midway?

The weight you've lost won't suddenly come back. But stopping before your habits settle can make it harder to maintain, so we recommend at least 3 months.

Rebound & maintenance

Rebound & maintenance

2questions

Q47Won't I rebound if I lose weight with herbal medicine?

Losing weight with herbal medicine doesn't in itself cause a rebound. We don't just reduce weight — through consultations we also build your eating and lifestyle habits to help you maintain it.

Q48Is there medicine for maintaining weight?

Yes, the Y capsule helps maintain weight. It is prescribed after a consultation once your weight loss is complete.

Remote care, delivery & overseas

Remote care, delivery & overseas

4questions

Q49Can I get herbal diet medicine prescribed remotely?

Yes. After you complete a questionnaire, our medical team prescribes through a remote consultation. Your herbal medicine is delivered, and you start taking it after a second consultation explains how to take it. The treatment approach is the same as an in-person visit

See remote diet program →

Q50What's the difference between visiting and remote care?

In-person visits include blood pressure, InBody and stress tests along with the exam. Remote care also prescribes for your condition based on the questionnaire and consultation, and the treatment approach is the same.

Q51When will I receive the medicine?

We ship by Logen courier and it usually arrives within 1–2 days of dispatch (excluding weekends and holidays).

Q52Do you ship overseas?

Yes, by EMS. Customs and clearance rules differ by country and some countries may be difficult, so we confirm availability during your consultation.
